Tomorrow's Home Meet vs. Meadowbrook – Important Information

Hello Barracuda Families,

It's time for our final home meet of the regular season! Tomorrow we welcome the Meadowbrook Marlins to Collington. We're looking forward to another evening of fast swimming, great sportsmanship, and plenty of Barracuda spirit!

Please review the attached heat sheet so you know your swimmer's events and lane assignments.

LOCATION
As the home team, Collington families should set up in the splash pad area. Please note that all tables on the pool deck are reserved for VIP table winners and the visiting team.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We still need several volunteers for tomorrow's meet! Meadowbrook is bringing a much smaller team than ours, which means Collington families will need to fill the majority of the volunteer positions to keep the meet running smoothly. If you haven't signed up yet, please consider volunteering. Every role is essential, and without enough volunteers, the meet simply can't happen.

All volunteers should check in at the Collington Team Table beside the entrance to the splash pad before the meet begins, regardless of whether you are working first half or second half. Thank you for helping make tomorrow's meet a success!

If you are serving as a Timer or Strokes & Turns Official, please attend the corresponding meeting before the meet begins. These meetings are required for all volunteers in those positions.

MEET TIMELINE

  • 5:40–6:00 p.m. Collington Warm-Ups
  • 6:00–6:20 p.m. Visiting Team Warm-Ups

  • 6:25 p.m. First Call to Clerk of Course, National Anthem, Senior Recognition and Kickboard Race
  • 6:30 p.m. Meet Begins
  • Halfway (approx. 7:50 p.m.) Parent Relay

Please arrive early enough to get settled and have swimmers ready for warm-ups.

MEET LOGISTICS

  • The Clerk of Course is located behind the starting blocks.
  • Please review the attached heat sheet so you know your swimmer's events and lane assignments.
  • Write your swimmer's last name on the back of their shoulder and their event information on their hand or arm with a Sharpie before arriving. This helps volunteers, clerks, and swimmers stay organized throughout the meet.

SPIRIT THEME: COLLEGE T-SHIRT NIGHT!
Wear your favorite college or university shirt as we celebrate our graduating seniors and recognize them before the meet! Let's send them off in true Barracuda fashion while showing off the schools we love.

Need a little extra Barracuda spirit? Stop by the concession stand for swim caps, stickers, magnets, and temporary tattoos!

FOOD & TREATS

  • Momma’s BBQ
  • Kona Ice
  • Concessions available throughout the meet including Papa John's pizza, candy, chips, and drinks. Concessions accept cash and Venmo.

Both Kona Ice and Momma's BBQ generously give back a portion of their sales to the Collington Barracudas, so grabbing dinner or a treat is another great way to support our team!

LAST CHANCE FOR A VIP TABLE!
There is still time to purchase raffle tickets for tomorrow's VIP reserved tables! Enjoy the best seats at the meet with a reserved front-row table for your family. The drawing takes place at 12 p.m. tomorrow, so be sure to get your tickets before then! Venmo @CollingtonBarracudas

FAMILY RELAYS
One of our favorite traditions returns tomorrow! Following Event #33, we'll pause the meet for our annual Family Relays.

Each relay team consists of one child and one adult. The adult and child will each swim one length of the pool. Families may decide who starts on each end of the pool.

We'll have three relay heats:

  • 8 & Under
  • Ages 9–12
  • Ages 13 & Up

There's still time to sign up! If you'd like to participate, sign up in the SwimTopia app. Come join the fun—it's always one of the highlights of the season!

MARBLE WAR UPDATE
The Marble War is getting intense! Coach Grant has pulled ahead and currently holds the lead! Coach Emily is close behind in second. And don't count Coach Melanie out—she's closing the gap!

Every marble counts, so stop by the concession stand to purchase marbles (2 for $1) and help your favorite coach climb the leaderboard. Remember—the coach with the most marbles at the end of the season will be PIED IN THE FACE at our End-of-Season Social!

HEAT WINNER PRIZES
Every heat winner earns a marble for the Barracuda Marble War! If your swimmer wins their heat, have them stop by the concession stand to collect their marble and choose which coach's bucket they would like to add it to. It's a little extra incentive to swim fast and help your favorite coach avoid (or earn!) a pie in the face at the End-of-Season Social.

In addition, all HOT heat winners will receive a special Blue Barracuda Rubber Ducky! Not interested in a duck? Hot heat winners may trade in their duck at the concession stand for their choice of candy or chips. So, swim fast, cheer loud, and don't forget to claim your prizes!

Please remember to report any swimmer absences to Coach Melanie as soon as possible if your plans have changed.

Let's make our final home meet of the regular season one to remember as we celebrate our seniors, cheer on our swimmers, and enjoy another fun night together as Barracudas!

Go Barracudas! 🦈💙
