About the Collington Barracudas

The Collington Barracudas are a spirited summer swim team known for fierce competition, strong camaraderie, and making waves both in and out of the pool. With a focus on skill development, sportsmanship, and fun, our swimmers proudly represent the Collington community all summer long.

Our season runs approximately 8–9 weeks, beginning just after Memorial Day and continuing through the last week of July. During this time, swimmers build confidence, improve their technique, and create lasting friendships.

The Barracudas welcome swimmers ages 4–18 who are able to independently swim the length of the pool. Our coaching staff works with athletes of all levels to develop proper technique in all four strokes, while also focusing on starts, turns, endurance, and overall swim skills. Just as importantly, we emphasize teamwork, encouragement, and a positive team culture in a fun and supportive environment.

Throughout the season, swimmers compete in weekly meets against other teams in the Chesterfield Aquatics League, held on Tuesday evenings. These meets are a highlight of the summer and a great opportunity for swimmers to challenge themselves and cheer on their teammates.

With 90–110 swimmers each year, the Barracudas are a mid-sized team with a big heart. Originally founded in the Birkdale neighborhood over twenty years ago, we are proud of our long-standing tradition of summer fun, fast swimming, and strong community connections.

As a volunteer-run organization, the success of our team depends on the involvement and support of our families. From meet-day roles to team events, every family plays an important part in making the Barracudas a positive and memorable experience for all.

We hope you’ll consider joining us this summer!

GO BARRACUDAS!
