Tomorrow's Home Meet vs. Walton Lake – Important Information
Hi Barracuda Families,
It's time for another home meet! Tomorrow we welcome the Walton Lake White Sharks to Collington. We can't wait for another evening of fast swimming, great sportsmanship, and plenty of Barracuda spirit!
LOCATION
As the home team, Collington families should set up in the splash pad area. Please note: All tables on the pool deck are reserved for VIP table winners and the visiting team.
MEET TIMELINE
- 5:40–6:00 p.m. Collington Warm-Ups
- 6:00–6:20 p.m. Visiting Team Warm-Ups
- 6:10 p.m. Strokes & Turns Officials Meeting
- 6:15 p.m. Timers Meeting
- 6:25 p.m. First Call to Clerk of Course, National Anthem, Kickboard race
- 6:30 p.m. Meet Begins
Please arrive early enough to get settled and have swimmers ready for warm-ups.
MEET LOGISTICS
The Clerk of Course is located behind the starting blocks. Please refer to the heat sheet in the SwimTopia app so you know your swimmer's events and lane assignments. Write your swimmer's last name on the back of their shoulder and their event information on their hand or arm with a Sharpie before arriving. This helps volunteers, clerks, and swimmers stay organized throughout the meet.
VOLUNTEER REMINDERS
Thank you to everyone who has signed up to volunteer! All volunteers must check in at the Collington Team Table beside the entrance to the splash pad BEFORE the meet begins, regardless of whether you are working first half or second half.
If you are serving as a Timer or Strokes & Turns Official, please attend the corresponding meeting before the meet begins. These meetings are required for all volunteers in those positions.
SPIRIT THEME: THROWBACK/DECADES NIGHT! 🕺🪩
Break out your favorite decade! Whether it's the groovy '70s, neon '80s, grunge '90s, or another iconic era, we can't wait to see everyone's throwback style on the pool deck.
Need a little extra Barracuda spirit? Stop by the concession stand for swim caps, stickers, magnets, and temporary tattoos!
FOOD & TREATS
- Boka Tako
- Kona Ice
- Concessions available throughout the meet, including Papa John's pizza, candy, chips, and drinks. Concessions accept cash and Venmo.
Both Kona Ice and Boka Taco generously give back a portion of their sales to the Collington Barracudas, so grabbing dinner or a treat is another great way to support our team!
LAST CHANCE FOR A VIP TABLE!
There is still time to purchase raffle tickets for tomorrow's VIP reserved tables! Enjoy the best seats at the meet with a reserved front-row table for your family.
The drawing takes place at 12:00 p.m. tomorrow, so be sure to get your tickets before then! You can purchase raffle tickets via Venmo (@CollingtonSwimTeam) or cash.
MARBLE WAR UPDATE!
Coach Emily is in first place...for now! 👀 Coach Grant is closing the gap, and the rest of the coaches are looking for your help.
Buy marbles at the concession stand (2 for $1) and add them to your favorite coach's bucket. Remember—the coach with the most marbles at the end of the season gets PIED IN THE FACE at our End-of-Season Social!
HEAT WINNER PRIZES
Every heat winner earns a marble for the Barracuda Marble War! If your swimmer wins their heat, have them stop by the concession stand to collect their marble and choose which coach's bucket they would like to add it to. It's a little extra incentive to swim fast and help your favorite coach avoid (or earn!) a pie in the face at the End-of-Season Social.
In addition, all HOT heat winners will receive a special Blue Barracuda Rubber Ducky! Not interested in a duck? Heat winners may trade in their duck at the concession stand for their choice of candy or chips. So, swim fast, cheer loud, and don't forget to claim your prizes!
Please remember to report any swimmer absences to Coach Melanie as soon as possible if your plans have changed.
Let's keep the momentum going and make it another memorable night of swimming, cheering, and Barracuda fun!
Go Barracudas! 🦈💙
