Hello Barracuda Families,

We're back in action tomorrow as we travel to Westerleigh for our second meet of the season!

Please review the attached heat sheet so you know your swimmer's events and lane assignments.

LOCATION AND PARKING

Westerleigh Pool
4901 Easter Road
Moseley, VA 23120

The main pool entrance is located off Easter Road.

Parking is available in the Westerleigh pool parking lot and has been reserved for our team. If the lot fills up, please park on Easter Road or one of the nearby side streets and walk to the pool.

Please do NOT park on Westerleigh Parkway (the main road entering the neighborhood) and be careful not to block driveways. Residents may contact law enforcement if driveways are blocked.

• 5:15 p.m. Gates Open
• 5:35–5:55 p.m. Westerleigh Warm-Ups
• 5:55–6:15 p.m. Collington Warm-Ups
• 6:15 p.m. Strokes & Turns Briefing (behind the blocks)
• 6:15 p.m. Timers Briefing (at Clerk of Course behind the slide)
• 6:20 p.m. First Event Called to Clerk of Course
• 6:25 p.m. National Anthem
• 6:25 p.m. Kickboard Race (Developmental Swimmers)
• 6:30 p.m. Meet Begins

Please arrive early enough to park, get settled, and have swimmers ready for warm-ups.

VOLUNTEER REMINDERS

Thank you to everyone who has signed up to volunteer! All volunteers must check in at the Collington volunteer table BEFORE the meet begins, regardless of whether you are working first half or second half. Upon check-in, you will receive your volunteer name tag and any additional instructions for your position.

If you are serving as a timer or on the strokes and turns team, please attend the corresponding briefing at 6:15 p.m. Both first-half and second-half volunteers should attend.

NOTE: At this time, we still need three more second half volunteers for tomorrow's meet: two strokes and turns judges and one timer.

SPIRIT THEME: NEON NIGHT 🌟

Break out your brightest neon shirts, socks, bows, sunglasses, and accessories as we light up the pool deck with Barracuda spirit! Let's make Westerleigh glow with Barracuda pride!

Need a little extra Barracuda spirit? Stop by the Collington team table for swim caps, stickers, magnets, and temporary tattoos. Payment accepted via cash, check, or Venmo (@CollingtonBarracudas).

MARBLE WAR IS BACK!

The Barracuda Marble War continues! Support your favorite coach in the ultimate Barracuda showdown by purchasing marbles to add to their jar throughout the season. The coach with the most marbles at the end of the season will be PIED IN THE FACE at our End-of-Season Social!

Marbles can be purchased at the Collington team table for $1. Bring your spare change, support your favorite coach, and help crown this year's Marble War champion!

POOL RULES

• Swimmers are only permitted in the main pool during warm-ups and when competing in an event.
• The zero-entry and water slide areas are closed during swim meets.
• Please help us respect our host team by not picking up, throwing, or writing with the decorative rocks near the Clerk of Course.
• Westerleigh removes tables and chairs during meets, so please bring chairs, blankets, and/or tents if desired.

DON'T FORGET!

• Swimsuit (team suit if you have one)
• Goggles
• Swim cap (optional)
• Towel (or two!)
• Water bottle
• Healthy snacks
• Money for concessions, spirit items, and Marble War
• Chairs, blankets, and/or tent
• Sunscreen / bug spray
• Sharpie
• Team spirit
• Your loudest cheering voice

Please remember to report any swimmer absences to Coach Melanie as soon as possible if your plans have changed.
